POLICIES

Pottery Paintin' Place Studio Policy
We take great effort to ensure that all of the bisque pieces available for painting in our
studio are not damaged or cracked, however occasionally a piece will have a "hairline
crack" on it that we do not see, and you probably wont see it either before it is painted.
In this case when the piece is fired in our kiln (temperatures reach 2000 degrees), the
crack will expand becoming noticeable after firing and could actually crack the piece in
half in extreme cases. When this happens, we will replace the piece, and you will be
allowed to come back at your leisure to repaint the piece at no extra studio cost.
We are not responsible for the amount of paint you decide to place on the piece.
Therefore if you are unsatisfied with the outcome of the fired piece, you may choose to
repaint the piece and re fire the piece at your
additional expense, keeping in mind that
a re fire may or may not correct the paint issue.  If the piece cracks or splits in this re
fire, we are not responsible for replacing the piece.  This is rare, but it occasionally
does happen.
We are not in any way responsible for pieces brought into our studio for firing that were
purchased elsewhere, if they were to split, crack or blow up in our kiln.
Kilns are machines, and machines sometimes breakdown. We are not responsible for a
piece not being ready when estimated due to kiln malfunction or power outage.  We do
our very best to have pieces ready one week from drop off/ paint day, however this is
not "set in stone"
and not a promise or guarantee.  Please call before you come in to
pick up a piece to ensure it is ready. This is your responsibility; we do not call when
pieces are ready due to the sheer volume we fire each week.  The one week
turnaround time is just an estimate, not a promise, so please feel free to call first.
We are not responsible for any piece that has been left in our studio for more than 30
days.  Pieces left longer than 30 days will be disposed of at our discretion.  We are not
responsible for pieces that are brought into our shop, or made at our shop that may get
accidentally broken while in our studio. We do everything in our power to make sure
this DOES NOT happen, however accidents do happen and it is pottery, so it will
break.  If this happens we will refund the glazing and firing fee and replace the piece if
it was purchased in our studio.  If it was purchased elsewhere, or hand made, we only
refund the glazing and firing fee
. Pieces that have been "forgotten" in our studio, for
more than 30 days will be donated to charity or sold in our shop at our discretion.  We
make every effort to contact via email or phone, repeatedly all persons who have
unclaimed pottery here over 30 days.

Studio fee's are charged in our Pottery Paintin' studio, this covers the under glaze
paint, the clear glaze,
studio time and tools, and one firing. Studio fee's are non
refundable.
Studio fee's are per person/ per day, and may not be carried over to
another day for a return visit for any reason. Therefore give yourself and everyone in
your group ample time to complete all painting projects in each studio visit. Another day
return to finish painting a piece will be another studio fee charged.
It has come to our attention that many adults visiting our studio with their children want
to "Help" their child to paint  the child's pottery piece, free of charge. If you paint you
pay. All persons painting in our studio will be charged a studio fee.  Children are
naturally artistic and very creative. Believe me they all know how to paint and don't
need any "Help" from mom and dad to do so. Examples: Painting/Filling in all the "white
Spots" they missed, is you painting the piece over for the child, and therefore you are
painting, so fee charged. (Entire piece is dipped in clear glaze before firing so all white
spots get covered). Painting a piece over or filling in spots just tells the child,"You didn't
do it good enough, let me fix it" If its not broken, don't fix it.  This is their art work, their
project, let it be. Two or more persons painting on one piece if perfectly acceptable, and
each person will be charged the studio fee.
For all returns , store credit issued only.
We are here to answer any question you may have when painting your pottery piece in
our studio.  We also have many samples, idea books, and instructions available in the
studio for your use
.
Birthday Parties/And All other Parties are reserved for a two hour slot and a $25 room
rental fee is charged for the two hours. If your party exceeded the two hour slot, you will
be charged for the additional time you use in 15 minute increments. All birthday parties
require a five person minimum, if you have less than five persons in attendance
painting, you will still be charged the five person minimum fee.
All after store hours parties are charged an additional fee.

Returns and Cancellations:
If you want to cancel an order before it has shipped, we will try to accommodate you.
Once an order has shipped the Returns section applies.
There are Cancellation Exceptions:  Kilns and other equipment cannot be cancelled
once they are processed.  For Kilns and other equipment, your order is considered
processed once we charge your credit card.  If you really need to cancel after this time,
we may allow it at our discretion, but in no case will the cancellation fee be less than
15%.  If you are purchasing a kiln, please make sure you read the section on kiln
orders.
Returns: For many items, you have 30 days from the receipt of an order to request a
credit for any reason. Upon return receipt of the merchandise you will receive a store
credit less shipping costs.  There are return exceptions.  Please see below.
If items are in "new" condition (sealed packages, no indication of use etc.), they may be
returned a full 30 days after purchase.  Upon return receipt of the merchandise you will
receive a store credit less shipping costs. Return Exceptions: Because of various laws,
risk of contamination ,manufacturer policy, and return shipping damage, we have the
following exceptions to our return policy:
-Kilns and kiln controllers
-Pottery  Wheels
, and All Clay
All large equipment purchases may have cancellation fees if we have already begun
processing the order.
Please note that just because we don't take returns on wheels and kilns, does not
mean that you have to be concerned that you might be stuck with a product that does
not work.  If there is any problem when your product arrives, we will always work with
you and the manufacturer to get you a product that works.  You also are covered under
the manufacturer's warranty. Customers cannot however return a wheel or kiln just
because they have changed their mind  One reason for this is the difficulty for the
customer to pack the product correctly to avoid shipping damage.
Return Procedure: To request a refund
Pack the items well, insure them , and ship to the address we provide.  We are not
responsible for shipping damage, packages sent to incorrect address.  You are
responsible for all shipping costs.
Lazy Daisy Ceramics, Inc.,  is not responsible for loss or damages caused by shipping
of any products we sell.  Materials (especially clay and glazes) may vary and may not
always perform the same from batch to batch; Users are encouraged to always TEST
before using large quantities of any material, and never to assume a material or other
product will perform as described until tested.

Kiln Orders
All kiln orders will be confirmed prior to processing.  This is to assure you ordered the
options and features you wanted, in particular the voltage and phase.  Most kilns are
built to order, non-concealable, and non-returnable.  If you need to cancel your kiln
order after we submit it to the manufacturer, and before it ships, it may be possible to
cancel for a canc
alation/restocking fee.  This is dependent on the policies of the
manufacturer and the costs that we have incurred, and will be handled on a case by
case basis.  In no case will the cancellation fee be less than 15%.  Most kilns are
custom made and take 2-6 week plus transit time.  Smaller kilns usually take less than
larger kilns.  If you need a kiln faster, please ask us, sometimes we can have kilns rush
built so you can get it by a certain date.
Please note that just because we don't take returns on wheels and kiln, does not mean
that you have to be concerned that you might be stuck with a product that does not
work. If there is any problem when your product arrives , we will always work with you
and the manufacturer to get you a product that works  You also are covered under the
manufacturers warranty.  Customers cannot however return a wheel or kiln just
because they have changed their mind.  One reason for this is the difficulty for the
customer to pack the product correctly to avoid shipping damage.
Remember that equipment takes from 2-6 weeks to be built and shipped.  If you need
something by a certain time, please ask if it is possible.

Shipping
Our shipping methods are UPS and FedEx.  They are economical, and packages are insured and
tracked.
Please note that there is a minimum UPS and FedEx charge to ship a package regardless of the
size of the item or the price of the item. There is nothing we can do to change this.  Therefore, if you
order a single inexpensive item you are likely to pay more for shipping than the cost of the item.  That
is simply the nature of shipping.  Large items (Kilns) have to ship by
freight truck.  In some cases, a
freight truck shipping quote must be generated.
